The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the root vegetable farming operations, overseeing the entire process from establishment to harvest with precision and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing planting, irrigation, crop management, and harvesting of root vegetables.
  • Managing daily farm operations to optimise productivity and crop quality.
  • Leading and motivating a team of 10-15 employees, including skilled operators, placement students, and seasonal staff.
  • Collaborating with the Farm Director to implement sustainable farming practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and maintaining high standards of welfare for staff and crops.
  • Supporting broader farming activities to contribute to the farm's long-term growth.

  • Experienced in farm management, preferably with a background in fresh produce and root vegetable production.
  • A natural leader with confidence in managing and developing a diverse team.
  • Technically skilled in sustainable crop production, irrigation, and modern farming techniques.

  • Health & safety conscious, committed to maintaining high operational standards.
  • Educated in agriculture with relevant higher-level qualifications.
