Job Title: Farm Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Contract Type: Full-Time – Permanent
Salary: £28,479 per annum
Start Date: May 2025

Hours: 36 hours per week (8:30am – 4:30pm)

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Farm Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our school farm. This is a unique opportunity to work in an educational setting that values hands-on learning and animal care.

You will work closely with the Farm Manager and other staff to ensure the welfare of the animals, maintain the farm area, and help create engaging learning experiences for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily care and feeding of animals (e.g., chickens, goats, rabbits, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety across the farm area
  • Support staff and pupils during farm-based learning sessions
  • Monitor animal health and report concerns promptly
  • Assist with planting, growing, and maintaining crops or gardens (if applicable)

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with animals (farm, pet care, or similar)
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare and education
  • A practical, proactive approach and willingness to get stuck in
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with children
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Animal care qualification or relevant training
  • First aid training
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
