The Role

As an Experienced DT Teacher (Food Technology), you will be responsible for delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons in food technology to students in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. Your role will include both theoretical instruction on nutrition, food science, and sustainability, as well as practical teaching to help students master cooking techniques and food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering High-Quality Lessons: Plan, deliver, and assess a range of lessons that challenge and inspire students, with a focus on practical skills such as cooking techniques, food safety, and nutrition.
• Curriculum Leadership: Collaborate with the department to continuously develop and refine the food technology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school’s academic standards and meets the needs of high-achieving students.
• Advanced Skills Development: Guide students through more advanced topics, such as the science of food, sustainable food systems, and the cultural impact of food. Encourage students to explore complex ideas and foster their independent learning.
