Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament. World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.

Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever. The Fan Communications Manager will lead all fan-facing communications both pre-tournament through planned communications and during the tournament period, through reactive communications, ensuring we are enhancing the fan experience and driving engagement.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Oversee the co-ordination of all fan communications for the RWC 2025, working closely with the Leads of all Tournament Services and Operations, alongside and in conjunction with the ticketing, marketing and digital teams.
  2. Design and implement a fan communications plan for all pre-tournament planned communications to ensure fans are fully informed including but not limited to transport provisions, matchday information, venue facilities and services, City activations and community events.
  3. Work with all relevant Functional Areas to schedule when their specific information needs to be sent to fans and liaise with the Fan Data and CRM team who will be responsible for the email distribution and channel management.
  4. Responsible for crafting content in line with our brand narrative working closely with the Tournament Services and Operations team to provide the technical information.
  5. Maintain copy and information on the RWC 2025 website, including FAQs.
  6. Use results from ticket purchaser data and ticket purchaser surveys to understand who our audiences are and reflect this in content messaging.
  7. During tournament time, work alongside the Tournament Communications Group (TCG) to manage reactive and real-time communications including updates and any changes to services and operations.

Experience & knowledge you’ll need:

  1. An in-depth understanding and passion for the global women’s sport movement.
  2. Excellent written skills, drafting copy and producing on-brand and engaging fan-facing content.
  3. Experience designing and implementing a fan communications plan.
  4. Ability to handle reactive communications effectively and professionally.
  5. Strong proven copywriting experience.
  6. Strong understanding of the global media landscape.
  7. Proficient in Digital and CMS platforms.
