About the Role

We are recruiting for a compassionate and approachable Family Worker to join our excellent team in our Lancashire Young Persons service. The role involves providing information and advice to families regarding substance misuse and its impact on the family. If you are looking for a role where you can make a tangible difference to the lives of those affected by substance misuse, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Family Worker, you will offer interventions to support parents with substance misuse issues, raise awareness of and improve access to appropriate services, using Motivational Interviewing techniques. You will provide ongoing support through 1:1 or group sessions. Developing strong and positive relationships with clients and their families, managing an active caseload, and ensuring continuity of care are vital.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willingness to achieve within 12 months
  • Experience working with families and young people around substance use
  • Experience structuring and delivering group work and presenting in group settings
  • Experience completing assessments, risk assessments, or care plans with adults and young people
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing skills, knowledge, and experience
  • Good organizational skills to manage time effectively, prioritize work, and handle pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging presentation delivery
  • Ability to record and maintain accurate case details promptly
  • Effective IT skills, proficient with various software and digital media
  • Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving license

Ideally, candidates will have experience in health and social care, substance misuse, or family settings. We seek positive, motivated individuals capable of communicating effectively across different settings.
