Warrington Borough Council is seeking two Family Time Workers on a fixed-term contract until July 2026. The role involves ensuring emotional and physical safety during family times for children in care. Successful candidates will provide support in maintaining family relationships while meeting the child's needs and wishes, underpinned by regular management supervision and training.
We are looking to recruit to two Family Time Worker role across Warrington. The post holder will work closely within the Family Time team situated within the wider Family Help and Protection team to deliver, observe, intervene when required and record family time sessions for those children and young people in care.
The role will involve being a lead worker for looked after children within this family time worker role. Successful applicants will be the designated professional for children are no longer living with their biological family and where it is paramount that these children continue to have positive relationships with members of their family. Your role would ensure the safety and positive family times are taking place in accordance with court and child's wishes.
Within the Family Network Team, you will work alongside the social work teams to review and provide high quality family time which will ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people whilst maintaining their family relationships and identity. You will work within the family time team where you will be provided with regular supervision, access to direct line management, training and support so you are best equipped to undertake the role confidently and effectively. You will be expected to work flexibly, and hours of work will include afternoons, early evenings, and throughout the school holidays where demand for the service increases, in response to children in care plans.
Essential Qualifications: A minimum of a NVQ Level 3 in Social Care, Child Development or equivalent
