An exciting opportunity has become available to work within our Family Time Team within the Cared For Children Service. The position is for 2 FTE (37 hours) per week over a Monday to Friday working pattern.

About you

You will provide high quality child led contact to looked after children and young people with their families taking place within a contact centre or the wider community.

You will observe, and offer relevant support and guidance during contact to ensure that the immediate safety and needs of the child are met.

You will promote quality and stimulated contact and provide accurate and relevant written and verbal information to contribute to the ongoing care plan for looked after children and young people.

Other key elements of the role include:

  • Provide an efficient and needs led supervised contact service to children, young people and their families both within a contact centre and when accessing community resources as directed by the Family Time Manager.
  • Effectively communicate with children, young people and their families to enable them to have quality and child led contact.
  • You will be required to record all observations as per current recording policy. This includes maintaining accurate, good quality records that evidences the observations made within the child’s contact.
  • Establish and sustain effective professional working relationships with children, their families, and other professionals. Ensuring that a high standard of service is provided to looked after children, young people, and their families.
  • Attend planning meetings with social workers to provide feedback to support the planning and reviewing process for looked after children and young people.
  • Work flexible hours,including early morning, evening and weekend work as required according to the service needs.

The successful candidate will have:
