Job description

Job Title: Family Time Worker

We supervise family time within our dedicated venues and the local community. The main office base is in Ashington; however, staff will work across the whole county of Northumberland, adopting agile and flexible working.

We are looking for people who have a passion for helping and supporting children and families. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum NVQ 3 in working with children and families or equivalent experience
  • Experience of direct work with children, their families, and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency supporting vulnerable children
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends, including working until after 6 pm most evenings
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driving license

About the Role

The Northumberland Family Time (Contact) Service supervises family interactions across Northumberland. The role involves supporting families to spend quality time together when they are unable to live together. Working with very vulnerable children, we maintain professional relationships while managing complex family needs and behaviors. A Family Time Worker will be assigned a family and remain with them during each session, observing, recording interactions and parenting, providing advice if requested, and intervening only to ensure a child's safety.
