Job summary

Trafford Council is seeking a Family Time Practitioner to support safe, meaningful family time sessions and contribute to care planning for vulnerable children.

You will work with children and families, engage in safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration, and help ensure positive outcomes while balancing competing priorities in a collaborative team environment.

About the Role…

Make a real difference in the lives of children and families by joining Trafford's Hayeswater Family Time Service. As a Family Time Practitioner, you will support safe, meaningful family time sessions, helping children maintain important relationships while contributing to their wellbeing and care planning. This varied and rewarding role combines direct work with children and families, safeguarding, assessment, and multi-agency collaboration. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will play a vital role in supporting positive outcomes for some of Trafford's most vulnerable children and young people

About You…

Candidates should demonstrate experience of working with children and families, ideally within a safeguarding environment, and a sound understanding of child development and the parenting role. They should be able to build positive relationships, communicate effectively with children, families and professionals, and work collaboratively as part of a team. Successful candidates will show strong organisational, recording and analytical skills, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities. We are looking for people who are compassionate, resilient, child-focused and committed to Trafford's values of being Empowering, People Centred, Inclusive and Collaborative

Additional Information…

You will need a Full clean Driving Licence, access to your own vehicle and Business Insurance. You will use your own vehicle to transport children to and from Sessions.

An enhanced DBS check with Children’s barred list will be required.
