Father Hudson’s Caritas is seeking experienced Family Support Workers to provide essential support to vulnerable children and families in Birmingham. The role includes working across several schools, focusing on social and emotional needs, in a nurturing environment committed to equality and inclusion. Father Hudson’s Caritas has two vacancies for Family Support Workers, to provide a range of support services to address social and emotional needs of children and their families. We are looking for experienced Family Support Workers with knowledge and skills to undertake direct work with vulnerable primary and secondary aged children and their families. These are school-based roles, and you will be required to work in two or three schools depending on the post you want to apply for.
30 Hours per Week
These roles are Fixed Term Contracts until 31/08/2026, there is a possibility that this may be further extended. However, this is not guaranteed.
The roles arewhole year, and you will be required to work during some of the school holidays.

Yatesbury Av, Castle Vale, Birmingham, B35 6LB (2 days)
Sutton Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 5XA (1 day)
Kingsbury Road, Erdington, Birmingham B20 3AE (1 day)
Hours: 30 hours per week (four days Monday – Thursday)
Post 2 - P1864
Locations:
Oliver Road, Ladywood Birmingham B16 9ER2 Days (15Hrs)
Beaufort Road, Erdington,Birmingham. B23 7NB 2 Days (15 hrs)
Hours: 30 hours per week (four days Monday – Thursday)
The salary scale for each post is SCP 27-30, paid at £23,812.26 to £26,397.71 per annum (this is the pro rata salary).
It is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
Working with schools, health and social care agencies and the voluntary sector, our Family Support Service supports children and families to overcome adversity and disadvantage they face, particularly where these are affecting a child’s emotional wellbeing, mental health and educational achievement. The service benefits the child, the family and the school.
