An exciting opportunity has arisen at The John Moore Primary School and Little Foxes Nursery for the position of ‘Child and Family Support Worker’.

Hours: 27.5 - 30 hours per week across 5 days (8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. indicative; flexible – early and later finishes offset as required)
Contract type: Full time; Permanent (including a three-month probationary period); Term-time (38 weeks) with additional holiday working (+5 days), totalling 39 weeks of the year
Pay Scale: £27,269 – £32,654 (Grade 5-11 – Grade 7-22) pro-rata; depending on experience (pay award pending)

The role of ‘Child and Family Support Worker’ at The John Moore Primary School and Little Foxes Nursery will involve working with children to assist them with maximising their educational potential and provide guidance for families to support this.

Working alongside members of the JMPS and Little Foxes Team, you will be required to work within the school and nursery environments to build positive relationships with the children and their families as you support them with a broad range of diverse and individual needs. In addition, you will need to continue to build on the good relationships that currently exist between local support networks, external agencies and organisations in the local area.

The role will require the successful candidate to take the lead role for pastoral provision across the school and nursery as well as being an active member of our Safeguarding Team.

The position of ‘Child and Family Support Worker’ is 27.5 hours – 30 hours (8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.) across 5 days, although these timings are indicative. Many aspects of the role will fall outside of these contact hours and therefore how the hours are allocated week by week needs to flexible. The role is a term-time (38 weeks) position with additional flexible holiday working (+5 days), totalling 39 weeks of the year. The position is being offered on a full time, permanent contract, including a three-month probationary period, to commence from Monday 1st September 2025.
