West Lothian Council is seeking a Family Support Worker to join the Inclusion and Support Service. This role includes working with children and families to enhance relationships, build resilience, and improve educational outcomes. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, along with relevant qualifications in social care.

Salary: £33,298 - £36,020 per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Worker to join the Inclusion and Support Service which brings together Education and Social Policy teams to support children, young people and families who require additional support.
The post holder will embed the values and principles of Getting It right for Every Child in order to ensure that services work together to improve outcomes for the children and young people of West Lothian and their families. We aim to empower families to support each other and build on their strengths.
The family support worker will work creatively with a caseload of children/young people and their parents/carers to support them to improve relationships, build resilience, improve educational engagement and improve on the strengthens they have to overcome the difficulties they face.
The work is challenging and fulfilling and the successful applicant will join a motivated and supportive team.
You’ll bring excellent relationship-building, communication, and organisational skills, as well as be able to work on your own initiative and collaboratively with partners.
An HNC and SVQ Level III in Social Care or other relevant qualification and experience is required.
This post may require the post holder to work flexibly out with office hours.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
