Job description

Family Support Worker – Early Help

Location:

Birmingham, West Midlands

Contract Details:

Start Date: 15/07/2024, initially for 3 months

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45 am – 5.15 pm, 36.5 hours/week

Responsibilities:

  1. Direct work with children, young people, and their families to offer support and guidance.
  2. Use early help assessments to identify needs and develop support plans.
  3. Identify issues requiring escalation and act accordingly.
  4. Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote change.
  5. Support healthy relationships, parenting, guidance, and boundaries.
  6. Respond promptly to the needs of children, young people, and families.
  7. Promote the welfare of children and young people.
  8. Collaborate with key agencies to support family needs and facilitate positive changes.
  9. Maintain records of work and prepare reports as necessary.
  10. Organize and chair case planning and review meetings, attend conferences.

Requirements:

  1. Recent experience in family support or working with vulnerable children and families.
  2. Experience delivering evidence-based interventions.
  3. Experience completing children’s assessments.
  4. Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
  5. Willingness to undertake relevant training.
  6. Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
