Job description

We are seeking several suitably experienced child and family workers for local authority contracts across Durham and surrounding areas.

The family support worker works directly with young people and their families, under the guidance of a social worker, to support their parenting and family skills and to ensure that families stay together.

Duties:

  1. Direct work with children and their families
  2. Supervised contact sessions
  3. Any other work deemed appropriate by the supervising social worker

You should have knowledge of the challenges that modern families face, including mental health and substance misuse support needs and financial pressures, and know how to support them through those challenges.

Ideally, you will have some experience or knowledge of the looked after children system and a Level 3 qualification in children and young people or a related topic would be an advantage.

You will need a driving licence and your own transport due to having to visit different families in the course of your work. Mileage payments can be claimed.

Working with BluTech, you will receive weekly pay, accrue paid annual leave hours, be provided access to free update training where appropriate, with certificates provided, and be given a named consultant as your main point of contact.
