Job description
Overview

Job Title: Family Support Worker. Actual Annual Salary: £32,275 - £35,693 based on hours and weeks worked. Full Time Equivalent Salary: £35,852 - £39,649 (CLF Grade E) - Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.

Contract Type: Permanent. Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) Term time only plus 3 weeks. Start Date: As soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • An opportunity to support a variety of SEMH Students and their families to promote and improve school encouragement and learning opportunities.
  • Provide high-quality, impartial pastoral support to students and their families; help break down barriers to learning; support positive engagement with school life; and help every student reach their full potential in and out of the classroom.
About you
  • Have an awareness and working knowledge of safeguarding and the willingness to develop expertise in this area.
  • Possesses a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in a children/young people related qualification or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Own a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel to other sites or attend home visits.
  • Have proven experience with working with young people ideally with SEMH needs and their families in education or related areas.
  • Hold excellent influencing, negotiating and advocacy skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including children, young people, parents, and carers in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency context at all levels of the organisation.
  • Be someone who can motivate and inspire young people and their families.
