Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Family Support Practitioner working in Coastal Family Support Team you will be expected to use the Suffolk Signs of Safety approach. The role requires you to hold a caseload working with children, young people and families in the community, including schools and family homes. There is an expectation of admin focused tasks to reflect the work undertaken as the lead professional, including writing and developing plans, chairing meetings, recording and keeping children and young people’s records up-to-date. You will be facilitating Family Time (supervised contact), liaising with other professionals and delivering bespoke work alongside our social care teams.
You will be required to travel to a number of locations around Suffolk.
You will need:
- Experience of working with children, young people and families.
- A passion for promoting best outcomes for Children and Young people
- Ability to work innovatively alone and as part of a team.
- Solution focused approach to working with families
- Inclusive, empathic, adaptable can-do attitude

The team
The team consists of Family Support Practitioners, Young Person Workers, Senior Family Support Practitioner, Practice Leads and Practice Manager to deliver the Family Support Core offer to families.
We are a friendly supportive team who work together to build on one another’s strengths to promote best outcomes for Children and Young People. We share our friendly office with our social care and Business support colleagues and celebrate one another’s achievements. Regular case supervision and wellbeing supervision is delivered to all practitioners. You will have access to a wide variety of learning and development opportunities to support you in your role.
