Clayton Legal is representing a well-established firm seeking a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Family Paralegal with private family legal aid experience to join their Family team in the Midlands.
You will handle a varied caseload including children matters, financial issues after divorce, domestic abuse and injunctions, with a focus on ensuring access to justice for clients. UK driving licence preferred for mobility between offices.
A fantastic opportunity for a family law professional who is passionate about legal aid and making a real difference.
I’m working with a well-established and highly respected law firm that is looking to strengthen its Family team with the appointment of a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Family Paralegal with a background in private family legal aid work.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with a strong reputation for legal aid and a genuine commitment to ensuring individuals and families can access the legal support they need.
You’ll be working on a varied caseload of private family legal aid matters, including children matters, financial issues following divorce or separation, domestic abuse and injunctions.
With the firm receiving a high volume of enquiries from clients eligible for legal aid, there is plenty of scope to develop a busy caseload and become an integral part of the team.
We’re keen to speak with Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives and experienced Family Paralegals who have hands‑on experience in private family law and a good understanding of legal aid work.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Experience handling private family legal aid matters, with the level of responsibility tailored to your experience.
Exposure to children matters, financial issues and domestic abuse/injunctions.
A good understanding of Legal Aid Agency requirements, funding processes and relevant compliance standards, including Lexcel.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload.
A confident, personable approach to working with clients and colleagues.
Experience preparing court documents and assisting with or undertaking advocacy, where appropriate to your role.
Good IT skills and familiarity with case management systems.
An interest in developing professional relationships and contributing to the growth of the team.
A full UK driving licence, as some travel between offices may be required.
Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine commitment to access to justice, strong client care skills and an understanding of the challenges clients can face when dealing with sensitive family matters.
Whether you’re a qualified lawyer looking for your next step or an experienced Family Paralegal keen to continue developing your career in legal aid, I’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be joining a respected Family team with an established legal aid practice, a steady flow of eligible client enquiries and the opportunity to develop your expertise within an important area of law.
The role offers scope to build your experience, take on meaningful work and contribute to a service that makes a real difference to the local community.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, making this a great option for candidates looking for flexibility around the working week.
