Job summary

LC Legal in Birmingham is seeking a Family Solicitor to join the growing Family Law team, handling privately funded matters and guiding clients through often sensitive situations with professional care.

You will work closely with an experienced Partner, gaining exposure to high-quality work, strong mentoring, and clear opportunities for career development within a supportive and well-regarded firm.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE in family law.
  • Experience handling divorce, financial remedy and children work.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • A client-focused approach with sensitivity and emotional intelligence.
  • A genuine passion for family law and supporting clients through challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion
  • Advising clients on a broad range of issues, including: Divorce and separation
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court applications
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case strategies
  • Attending court hearings, client meetings, and negotiations (with support where required)
  • Supporting senior team members on more complex or high-value cases
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Managing deadlines effectively and maintaining accurate case records
  • Contributing to business development activities where appropriate

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, supporting clients through often complex and sensitive situations. This role offers a strong mix of autonomy and supervision, making it ideal for someone looking to build confidence and expertise in family law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing your own caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion
