Job description

Family Senior Paralegal/FCILEx/NQ | Hybrid | Inclusive Team | Non-corporate Environment

A national,Legal 500 firm is looking for a Family NQ, FCILEx, or experienced Senior Paralegal to join its well-established Family Law team in Bristol. This full-time, permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative and supportive team known for its specialist knowledge and strong client relationships across both privately and publicly funded family law matters.

The Family department is structured into specialist teams, including Divorce & Finance, Care Proceedings, Domestic Abuse, and Private Law Children. You will join the Divorce and Finance team, which deals with a wide spectrum of cases - ranging from high-net-worth separations and complex financial settlements to cases involving domestic abuse, non-molestation orders, and disputes over child arrangements. The team is led by experienced supervisors and supported by a strong administrative and paralegal backbone, fostering a highly collegiate environment that encourages development and knowledge sharing.

You will manage your own caseload with supervision and attend court hearings in Bristol and further afield, often conducting your own advocacy. You’ll be advising clients on divorce, separation, finances, private law children issues, and legal aid applications. Experience using the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) will be essential.

The position also involves close client interaction, drafting court documents, and working within the firm’s case management system to ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency audit requirements. You’ll liaise with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing solicitors, and contribute to the department’s financial and business development goals.

The firm offers a forward-thinking and inclusive culture, with a strong commitment to wellbeing and professional growth. Benefits include a health cash plan, gym and lifestyle discounts, generous annual leave, flexible working, and a dress down policy.
