Job summary

Southend on Sea City Council is recruiting a full-time Social Worker for the All About the Family Service on a fixed-term contract until October 2027. The role focuses on children and young people accommodated by the Local Authority, with reunification with families as a potential outcome.

You will conduct evidence-informed reunification assessments using the NSPCC framework, undertake direct work with children and parents, and contribute to court proceedings where required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• ASYE completed and eligible to practise in England.
• Experience with safeguarding, risk and child development.
• Ability to plan and conduct reunification assessments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out evidence-informed reunification assessments with children and families.
• Undertake direct work with children and parents to assess strengths, risks and parenting capacity.
• Support 'Parenting From a Distance' and potential court proceedings where required.
• Collaborate closely with Social Care and professionals across the network.
