We are seeking a Nurse or Social Worker for a Band 7 Family Practitioner role within Essex STaRS, collaborating with the Essex Drug and Alcohol Partnership and Children's and Families services in Northeast and West Essex. This role aims to deliver integrated family interventions within drug and alcohol services, focusing on identifying and supporting the needs of the whole family.
The service targets families involved with Essex Children's Social Care with additional needs related to drug and/or alcohol misuse. Its goal is to reduce substance misuse harms, improve family functioning, and positively impact health, social, psychological, legal, and criminal aspects of these families.
The post is employed by Essex STaRS but involves working across EEC's Children and Family Services and Essex Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services.

Provide high-quality, holistic care aligned with professional and trust standards to families with substance misuse concerns, ensuring access to appropriate services and supporting informed decision-making. Collaborate with treatment providers to minimize contact duration with social care and offer advice, support, and information on harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services. Facilitate assessments, recovery planning, and interventions, including detoxification support for adults and families involved with social care.
