Job Title: Family Practitioner

Location: The Nelson Trust Women’s Centres

Working Hours

14 hours per week, including one evening per week. Flexibility to work outside of normal hours as required.

We provide life-changing support to families affected by substance misuse, aiming to empower families through comprehensive therapy and holistic support to address substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health issues, fostering resilience and positive change.

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Practitioner to join our Women and Families team. You will deliver trauma-informed, holistic services to families facing substance misuse challenges, offering practical and emotional support, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with internal and external agencies to help families achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a caseload of families, providing tailored support to meet their needs.
  2. Offer interventions to build family resilience, improve parenting, and address impacts of substance use.
  3. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, develop action plans, and support families in accessing specialist services.
  4. Conduct assessments, participate in multi-agency meetings, and contribute to social care, safeguarding, and child protection efforts.
  5. Maintain accurate records and engage in ongoing professional development.

Note: Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
