Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Best Start in Life Family Navigator to support families with children aged 0-5. You will help families access services through Best Start Family Hubs, community services and early help provision, building connections and reducing isolation.

Working with health professionals, early years providers and local partners, you will deliver targeted activities, group work and outreach focused on parenting, language development and school readiness to promote

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Knowledge of child development and factors influencing outcomes.
• Understanding safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Experience delivering activities, interventions or group work with families.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate and support families to make positive changes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners and local communities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions, outreach activities and group work focused on parenting, early language development and school readiness.
• Link families to Best Start Family Hubs, community services and wider early help provision.
• Provide guidance to families to navigate services and engage with opportunities that support positive outcomes for children.
