Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Law Solicitor or Caseworker to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will have experience handling a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, financial disputes, and child arrangements. You will work closely with clients to provide tailored legal advice and represent them in both negotiations and court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on a wide range of family law matters including divorce, separation, domestic violence, financial remedy, and children issues
• Prepare and file court applications, divorce petitions, child arrangement orders, and financial agreements
• Represent clients in family court proceedings and dispute resolution meetings
• Maintain accurate and detailed case records, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory obligations
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients, keeping them informed throughout the process
• Stay up to date with family law developments and relevant legislation
• Work collaboratively with other departments where clients have overlapping legal needs (e.g. immigration)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified solicitor/Case Worker with a current practising certificate or experienced family law caseworker
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in family law
• Strong drafting, advocacy, and client communication skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in other legal areas (particularly immigration/Personal Injury) is advantageous
• Fluency in an additional language is a plus
