Role overview

Thomas Mansfield Solicitors Limited is a rapidly expanding firm specialising in employment, family, private client law and dispute resolution. Based in London, Kent, and Surrey we have built an enviable reputation for the provision of legal services to individuals based on employing an experienced team of professionals delivering excellent client care.

We are seeking a qualified family law solicitor with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience to join our dynamic team in London City. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated family law professional to advance their career in a supportive and progressive environment.

Key responsibilities

  1. Handling a varied caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, cohabitation disputes and prenuptial agreements.
  2. Advising clients on complex legal issues with a focus on tailored, client-centric solutions.
  3. Providing supervision and guidance to junior team members where appropriate.
  4. Engaging in business development activities, including networking, building relationships with clients and referrers and contributing to the firm’s growth.
  5. Demonstrating excellent organisation and document management skills to ensure efficiency and accuracy in case handling.
  6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of family law developments and applying this expertise to client matters.

Key skills and experience

  1. A qualified solicitor with 4-6 years PQE in family law.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of family law, including financial settlements and child arrangements.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders. Experience of running and assisting with High Net Worth/Ultra High Net Worth/International clients.
  4. Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy and varied caseload independently.
  5. Commercial awareness and experience contributing to business development initiatives.
  6. A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach to meeting client needs.
