Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Family Support Worker to work in an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Hulme (M15). This school caters to young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health issues and aims to raise aspirations for students facing these challenges daily.
The environment is safe and supportive, with low staff turnover. Most staff sent in by Prospero Teaching are offered a permanent contract after their first 12 weeks.
The role involves going into the community, liaising with social workers and family members, and helping young people engage with the curriculum. Many students have been affected by drug abuse, family issues, trauma, neglect, or mental health problems, which can impact attendance and behavior. All students have an education and health care plan to follow.
Experience working in the Hulme and Moss Side areas would be advantageous for this role.
