Job description

We are seeking to appointment a Family Intervention worker within our Intervention Hub, are you looking for a new challenge and would relish the opportunity to make a difference to some of our most vulnerable children, young people and families? If you have the passion and drive for direct front line family focused work and are flexible and creative in your approach in working with children and families, we want to hear from you!


The Intervention Hub delivers high quality services for local children and their families, ensuring the right support is offered at the right time. We are currently recruiting for a Family Intervention Worker to join a strong performing team who focus on achieving the best outcomes for the families, children and young people they work with. As a member of the team, you will be involved in providing high-quality family intervention to families with children and young people who are living in complex situations, at risk of harm and family breakdown and requiring the support of children’s social care. Using a solution focused approach and evidence-based interventions to support and empower families to develop and implement sustainable, long-term solutions to their difficulties and enable parents to provide safe and consistent care to their children.

The Intervention Hub work in a trauma informed way using Cheshire West and Chester’s innovative multi- agency partnership model ‘Our Way of Working’.

The role requires you to hold a Level 3 Qualification Child Care or equivalent level of experience in a relevant discipline, for example, health and social care, housing, employment etc. Knowledge of child development and previous experience of working with children, young people and families, and be able to work across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough.

As a practitioner you will receive regular supervision by an experienced Senior Practice Lead to ensure the assessed needs of the child are being met and outcomes are improved. Excellent training opportunities will be provided to support you in undertaking the role.
