Job description

Family Intervention Specialist - Inclusion STaRS Team

We are currently recruiting for a Family Intervention Specialist on a full-time, fixed-term basis, to join our Inclusion STaRS team.

The post-holder will work as a family specialist to deliver The Option 2 strengths-based family model.

This role involves managing an intensive caseload of families where children are at risk of entering local authority care due to parental/carer substance misuse. The focus will be on reducing risk and enhancing safety within the family, including assertive interventions for domestic abuse and mental health issues.

This position is currently fixed-term but may be reviewed and converted to a permanent role in the future.

The post holder will promote a strengths-based approach to empower families, build resilience and independence, and work as part of a multi-agency team to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.

They will support individuals to engage with tailored support, including collaboration with local substance misuse teams, and provide information and advice regarding risk and protective factors for families with multiple needs, especially those under safeguarding plans or on the verge of care.

The role involves delivering a whole-family, solution-focused approach to help families meet their goals and reduce the risk of children being removed into local authority care.
