Job summary

Luton Borough is seeking a proactive Family Hub Project Support Assistant to help deliver Luton's Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme. You will support senior managers, coordinate meetings, and help manage financial processes to improve outcomes for children, young people and families across the borough.

The role focuses on project support, reporting, risk management and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, with a commitment to equality and inclusion within the Council values.

Qualifications

Job description

Salary: £30,024 - £32,597 a year pro rata
Hours: 37 hours a week
Contract type: Internal Secondment/Fixed Term for 3 years

This role is available for 3 years. Internal candidates who are permanent employees of Luton Council will be appointed on a secondment basis, while external candidates and other eligible applicants will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for 3 years.

Current Luton Council employees applying for this opportunity must obtain written approval from their manager before applying (an email will suffice). A copy of this approval must be included with the application, as we will be unable to progress applications without it.

What You’ll be doing

Supporting the delivery of the national Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme, you will work closely with the Family Hub Network Manager and partners across the council and wider community to help develop and improve services that put families at the heart of everything we do.

Key responsibilities include providing project and programme support, assisting with commissioning activities, processing and monitoring financial information, and managing risks and associated reporting requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive individual who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families through collaborative working and service transformation.

What we’re looking for

Are you an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys supporting projects and working with a wide range of people? We're looking for a Family Hub Project Support Assistant to help deliver Luton's Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme, improving outcomes for children, young people and families across the borough.

In this varied role, you'll support senior managers, coordinate meetings, prepare reports and papers, manage financial processes, take accurate minutes, and help keep projects on track. You'll work closely with colleagues and partner organisations, building positive relationships and supporting the successful delivery of key priorities.

We're looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, experience in administration and project support, confidence handling confidential information, and strong IT skills across Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You'll be able to manage your own workload, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to equality, inclusion and the Council's values.
