Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Family Hub Practitioner for a 3 Month Contract at Holly Trees Family Hub, Redditch. The role involves direct family support, group work, and community engagement to improve child development and readiness for school.

You will visit families in community settings and occasionally in their homes, building trust and providing practical parenting advice and targeted interventions. A full UK driving licence is required and safeguarding policies must be followed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting children, young people, or families.
  • Knowledge of child development and early years practices.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Experience delivering one-on-one support and/or group interventions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Capability to engage with vulnerable families.
  • Experience collaborating with partner agencies.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to transport.
  • Experience in Family Hubs, Early Help, Children's Centres, Family Support, or Children's Services.
  • Relevant qualification in Family Support, Early Years, Childcare, Social Care, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable families and multi-agency teams.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Offer personalized one-on-one support to families.
  • Conduct home visits when necessary.
  • Empower parents to build confidence and effective parenting skills.
  • Encourage positive child development, emotional wellbeing, and readiness for school.
  • Assist families facing various social, emotional, and practical difficulties.
  • Implement evidence-based parenting programs.
  • Lead group sessions, workshops, and drop-in activities.
  • Support families with child development issues, school readiness, behavior management, emotional wellbeing, or parenting challenges.
  • Track progress and outcomes using assessment tools.
  • Modify support plans to address unique family needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partner agencies.
  • Contribute to multi-agency plans and interventions.
  • Engage with vulnerable and hard-to-reach families, including families known to Children's Services, teenage parents, care leavers, and families in high-need communities.
  • Direct families to appropriate support services.
  • Maintain accurate case records and safeguard compliance.

Family Hub Practitioner – 3 Month Contract

Location: Holly Trees Family Hub, Redditch

Contract: 3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, primarily 8:30am to 4:30pm

Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence Required

DBS: DBS Check May Be Required

Summary

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Family Hub Practitioner to join our team at Holly Trees Family Hub in Redditch. This role offers a fulfilling chance to assist families with young children, particularly those under the age of five, in enhancing child development, school readiness, emotional health, and family resilience. You will engage directly with families in community settings, Family Hubs, and occasionally in their homes, providing practical assistance, parenting advice, and targeted interventions to help families navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities
Family Support & Development

Partnership Working

  • Engage with vulnerable and hard-to-reach families, including:
    • Families known to Children's Services
    • Teenage parents
    • Care leavers
    • Families in high-need communities
  • Direct families to appropriate support services.
Safeguarding & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment at the Family Hub.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and information sharing protocols.
