Job description

We are looking to recruit two Family Help Workers (Early Help) to support families with children and young people 0-19 within Northumberland's Supporting Families Framework across the Central Northumberland Locality, covering Ashington, Bedlington, Choppington, Newbiggin, and Morpeth areas. This exciting opportunity involves working with children and young people. There is one full-time position (37 hours per week) and one part-time position (18.5 hours per week).

Working within an established team, we seek self-motivated and responsible applicants with good communication skills. You will enjoy teamwork but also be able to work independently, managing your commitments and organizing your time effectively.

You must be competent in working directly with children and families, completing assessments, leading family plans, and collaborating effectively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.

  • A minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent is essential, along with a good understanding of child and young person development.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Early Help Assessment process are required, and you should be able to chair TAF meetings.

We provide a full induction programme and support your personal and professional development. You will join an enthusiastic, welcoming, and committed team eager for your success.

The roles are primarily office-based with some flexibility to work from home, subject to agreement with your line manager. To ensure children's safety, we will conduct full DBS checks.

We are offering:

  • A starting salary of £31,537 (full-time) for 37 hours per week
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension schemes)
  • A wide range of staff benefits, including a competitive annual leave provision
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • An extensive training package
