This is an exciting opportunity to work restoratively with families in Kirklees, as part of the Family Help Team within the Family Support and Child Protection Directorate.
As a Family Help Lead Practitioner, you will assess the needs, risks, and strengths of children, young people, and their families. You will work creatively with all family members, engaging effectively to develop support plans and complete targeted work to address their needs.
Alongside case work, Family Help Lead Practitioners facilitate Family Time between children, young people, and their families, especially for children subject to care proceedings. You will coordinate with parents, carers, Social Workers, and children to ensure Family Time meets their needs.
You will use a multi-disciplinary agency approach and restorative practices to deliver coordinated support.
The role involves working professionally and creatively with family members from diverse backgrounds, with flexibility to meet service needs.
You should be proactive and persistent in engaging children, young people, and families with complex needs.
A Level 4 qualification in working with families or equivalent is advantageous but not essential; substantial experience with vulnerable families is required.
You must demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and practice.
Travel is essential; a full and valid driving license is required. You may use a council vehicle or your own car, with exceptions for disabled applicants.
