Pact is a highly respected independent charity working across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services, providing practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children, families, and prisoners.
About the Role:
Purpose:
- Lead the delivery of Pact’s family engagement services at HMP The Verne and HMP Portland, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, prison operational and security arrangements, and Pact’s standards and policies.
- Deliver family-focused casework services including assessments, advocacy, structured interventions, case reviews, and facilitating visits (both in person and online).
- Manage the Visits Centre and its staff to ensure visitors have a positive experience.
Aims:
- Promote the health and well-being of prisoners, family members, and significant others during custody and through the gate by delivering effective and responsive family support services.
- Ensure that children, families, and prisoners are treated with dignity and respect, involved in service development, and their health and well-being are promoted.
- Work to improve continuity of care and support for family members, carers, and people in custody.
About You:
- Demonstrable capacity to coordinate a broad service, with experience working with prisoners and their families in challenging multi-agency environments both in custody and visitor centres.
- Excellent customer service and IT skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.
- Knowledge of safeguarding/child protection practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build partnerships with various agencies.
