Job description

Summer Student Contract Position:

Family Engagement Assistant

35 hours per week for 9 weeks (June 23 – Aug 22)

Monday to Friday with some evenings and some Saturdays

$18.14 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

Applicants must be enrolled in school and be younger than 30 years of age to meet grant requirements.

Partial funding paid by the Government of Canada.

Job Activities:

  • Work with a team to deliver summer program activities for children aged 4-12
  • Create an inclusive environment for all children to participate
  • Foster literacy development in children
  • Make meaningful connections with the community
  • Assist with other library tasks as time permits
  • Transportation required to travel between both library branches
