Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon is seeking a fixed-term, part-time Family & Systemic Psychotherapist (Band 7) to join the Moods, Emotions and Relationships (MERS) and Managing Eating Disorder pathway in CFHD.

The role offers supervision, CPD opportunities and a supportive multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based systemic therapy to children, young people and families, with focus on complex emotional and relational difficulties.

Qualifications

• Masters level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (UKCP registered).
• Active registration with the UKCP as a Systemic and Family Therapist.
• Post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people.
• Post-qualification training or proven equivalent experience in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete systemic assessments to inform care planning for children and young people referred to MERs (CAMHS).
• Provide evidence-based systemic therapy in line with NICE guidance.
• Manage a caseload of children and young people with moderate to severe mental health needs with supervised progression for trainees.
• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
• Maintain clear clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

We are excited to be recruiting afixed term, part-time Family &Systemic Psychotherapist, Band 7, to join our Moods, Emotions andRelationships (MERS) and Managing Eating Disorder pathway in Children andFamily Health Devon (CFHD).

We have a vacancy in Torbay and South (0.8wte, 30 hours).

This is anexcellent opportunity to join a supportive multi-disciplinary team providingsystemic therapy to children, young people and their families experiencingcomplex emotional and mental health challenges and eating difficulties in thiscross- pathway role.

The successful applicant will be offered support,supervision, and CPD opportunities to develop their skills in this role.

You will offer evidence-based systemic therapy, contributeto assessments, care planning and interventions, and support colleagues toembed family-focused practice. We offer regular systemic supervision, acollaborative team culture, and ongoing professional development.

Main duties of the job

Complete systemic assessments to identify strengths, risks and needs to informcare planning for children and young people referred to MERs (CAMHS).

Provide evidence-based systemic therapy in line with NICE guidance.

Manage a caseload of children and young people with moderate to severe mentalhealth needs, ensuring timely, person-centred interventions (caseload will besupervised and graduated for trainees).

Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues and partner agencies.

Contribute to service development and quality improvement.

Maintain clear clinical records in line with professional and organisationalstandards.

• Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, including using goal-based care and routine outcome measures in practice.

• Experience of working systemically with a range of children and young people with complex needs, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems and verbal abuse
• Experience of undertaking specialist assessment and evidence-based systemic

• Experience of safeguarding children and ensuring their safety in partnership with other agencies as appropriate
