Catch22 is seeking an individual to support marginalized young people across Norfolk. This role involves engaging students in alternative education settings, ensuring their access to learning and well-being. Catch22 include is an alternative education provider for young people, over 700 vulnerable young people with challenging behaviours are supported through independent alternative education schools or via a range of tailored support programmes delivered in school or off-site. Include schools provide an alternative to mainstream schooling, whereby multiple barriers to learning have previously affected engagement and access to education
Catch22 include Norfolkis an Ofsted registered independent school. It provides full-time, alternative, secondary education for young people who have been excluded from their previous school or pupil referral unit, or who need additional supportto whatis offered by a mainstream setting.
Job DescriptionWhere you fit in
This role is designed to ensure consistency across the school’s in helping to ensure that all students can access their education. You will be required to work across Norfolk support our students with all three of our school provisions; Norwich, Kings Lynn and Cloud22 (online school)
There will be a requirement to travel and work in a range of settings, and undertake home visits, (including some very occasional out of county). You will be responsible for your own travel arrangements. You will be required to make visits on your own and will need to follow the lone working practices.
Potential risk to personal safety and belongings due to working with aggressive and violent families. Visiting service users’ homes where conditions and hygiene are poor/dangerous. Poor personal hygiene of some service users. Potential exposure to infectious diseases. Possibility of contact with drug/alcohol abusing service users.
Awareness of the impact of complex and emotionally difficult cases, ensuring your resilience for your own wellbeing.
Support the senior leadership team to ensure the development of the school as a catalyst for social change, improving sustainable outcomes for young people and the community as a whole. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the school’s inspection ratings through the delivery of high quality and high challenge, people focused and compliant education.
Manage, support and develop a group of marginalized young people and their families by building trusting relationships through the use of individual sessions, group work, family visits and other interventions. Oversee a holistic person centered approach to a young person’s journey from entry to exit, bridging the gap between their academic, behavioral and therapeutic needs.
Develop individual education/learning plans that brings together internal, external and multi-agency professionals in order to support development, attainment and progression. To embed safeguarding and inclusion principles at the heart of all practice.
