Join to apply for the Family Advisor - Family Help role at Dorset Council UK.

We are looking for a part-time Family Advisor (21 hours a week) to work in our Bridport Family Hub alongside a multidisciplinary team. Your role will be multifaceted and forward-facing, supporting families, welcoming the community, managing bookings, attracting new users, and providing advice and guidance to families in need.

The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team committed to supporting children and families in the West locality, also offering advice and support to other professionals across various services.

This role offers varied and interesting work with opportunities to develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of family services in a broad sense.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Stay informed about local services and support for children, young people, and families
  • Act as a link between the family information service and localities
  • Develop and use online communication tools to promote local services
  • Share information with colleagues in localities
  • Undertake signposting activities
  • Provide face-to-face, online, and telephone advice to children, young people, and families
  • Engage in outreach activities with community groups and other services
  • Support online engagement as a digital champion in localities
  • Welcome families into the Family Hub and promote available support
  • Attract new partners and activities to the Family Hub
