Job Purpose:
As a Fall Arrest Testing Engineer, you will test, repair, and maintain fall arrest and fall restraint equipment, including Mansafe Systems, Edge Protection, and Fixed Ladders. This role emphasises health and safety, as well as quality control, ensuring all equipment meets strict industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Delivery: Execute a variety of working at height projects according to job specifications.
  2. Safety Compliance: Follow method statements, risk assessments, and site-specific safety regulations, complying with company and industry policies.
  3. Problem Solving: Analyse and resolve mechanical and technical problems efficiently.
  4. Safety-First Mentality: Prioritise safety in all tasks and decisions.
  5. Accurate Documentation: Complete all PDA works accurately and promptly.
  6. Professional Communication: Engage professionally with team members, site clients, and other contractors, representing PTSG with the highest standards.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of the onsite team.
  8. Equipment Care: Maintain company equipment and materials in excellent condition.
  9. Professional Image: Ensure all corporate clothing is worn, and the PTSG van is kept clean and tidy.

Job Context / Key Challenges:

  1. Location: Based in Castleford, with travel across the UK.
  2. Labour Intensive: Requires working at heights and involves physical labour.
  3. Safety Focus: A critical safety-first mindset is essential.

Role Dimensions:

  3. National Role: Travel across the UK, with occasional periods away from home.

  3. Problem Solving: Excellent planning, problem-solving skills, and risk management.
  4. Team Player: Flexible and dynamic approach to all tasks.
  5. Driver's Licence: Full valid UK driving licence required.
  6. Engineering Skills: Proficient with various small hand tools and battery-operated tools.
