We are ranked first in the UK for research power in Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience (REF 2021).

Our work spans the full breadth of brain sciences, from fundamental discovery to clinical application, bringing together world-leading researchers, clinicians, educators and students to advance understanding of the brain, mind and behaviour.

The Faculty Marketing and Communications team provides strategic leadership for communications across the Faculty. Through compelling content, campaigns and audience insight, we showcase the impact of our work, strengthen our reputation and support Faculty priorities.

About the role

If you're a strategic communicator with excellent editorial judgement, a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of how communications can support organisational objectives, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact at one of the world's leading centres for brain sciences research and education.

As Senior Communications Manager, you will play a leading role in the delivery of the Faculty's communications function, supporting the Head of Marketing and Communications in delivering the Faculty Marketing and Communications Strategy.

Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the Faculty's divisions and institutes, you will develop and deliver integrated communications that enhance the Faculty's profile and reputation, showcase its work and support strategic priorities.

Through compelling content, campaigns and creative communications, you will help bring the Faculty's priorities and impact to life for internal and external audiences. You will translate complex research, education, innovation and enterprise activity into engaging and accessible communications that demonstrate impact and support strategic objectives. Working across multiple channels, you will ensure the Faculty's work reaches and engages our audiences.

This role is focused on leading strategic communications that support Faculty priorities, providing expert advice to colleagues, and helping deliver the Faculty's marketing and communications strategy. It involves developing and promoting compelling stories and content about the Faculty's research, education, innovation and enterprise activities, while leading campaigns that enhance awareness and reputation.

The role is available from December and is a permanent role.
