Job summary

JRL Group's Trent Precast division in Nottingham is seeking a highly motivated factory supervisor with a minimum of three years' experience to lead a growing production team in metal fabrication. You will oversee quality checks, coordinate with machine operators, and ensure timely delivery of products.

You should be adept at reading engineering drawings (CAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) and have a background in aluminium, steel fabrication and powder coating.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as factory supervisor.
• Manufacturing supervision experience in aluminium, stainless steel and powder coating.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (CAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Apprentice trained preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate expectations to production team and evaluate performance.
• Oversee machinery maintenance and service contracts.
• Issue production programs and identify bottlenecks in planning.
• Compile reports on production for management updates.
• Match workload programs with material stock levels.
• Conduct QC inspections using drawings and measure dimensions.
• Document inspection outcomes per QA procedures.
• Check parts against delivery notes and lists.
• Identify problems and report to supervisors.
• Work with production management and site call offs.
• Perform spot-checks on paint, anodizing, galvanizing thickness.
• Support with fabrication and welding knowledge; apprentice trained preferred.
• Ensure reading of drawings and use IT systems for QA records.
• Self-manage workload and work well in a team.
