A family-run engineering company in the Medway Towns is seeking a General Operative to assist machine operators. Initially temporary, there is potential for permanency. Standard hours are Monday to Friday with guaranteed overtime for hours over 40 per week.

Overview

We have an excellent long term opportunity to work for a family run Engineering company based in the centre of the Medway Towns.

Responsibilities

• Start as a general operative, assisting machine operators by fetching products, loading them onto machines, unloading them, moving goods around the site, clearing up and performing general ad-hoc duties.
• Initially be trained on the various laser cutting machines to develop in the role.
• This is a physical role that includes heavy lifting; demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability. Previous machine operating experience is advantageous but not essential.

Hours and Employment

Hours of work: 6.00am - 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, with 2 in 4 Saturday mornings for day shifts; 5.00pm - 2.00am, Monday to Friday for night shifts. There is guaranteed overtime for hours over 40 per week paid at time and a half. The position is initially on a temporary basis with the possibility of becoming permanent.
