Job description

Are you looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy hands-on work and being part of a skilled team? We are working with a well-established business in Pickering that is looking for a Factory Operative to support their production process. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, work with specialist equipment, and be part of a company that values quality and precision.

As a Factory Operative, you will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting in the workshop with general tasks to support production.
  2. Measuring quality standards using a height gauge and making corrections with hand and power tools.
  3. Gathering materials and assisting machine operatives.
  4. Testing products in water pressure tanks to ensure quality.
  5. Coating products in a specialist acid room – full training provided.
  6. Supporting the lost wax process, a specialist technique used to create precision-engineered components.
  7. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to learn to weld or braze weld.

Skills You Need to Have:

  1. A willingness to learn and develop hands-on skills.
  2. Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  3. Ability to follow processes and work safely with tools and materials.
  4. Previous experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
