Job summary

Taylor Wimpey plc is hiring for a warehouse picker role. You will pick and pack orders for despatch, check goods in, and load/unload items using appropriate material handling equipment. The role requires accuracy, physical fitness, and adherence to safety guidelines.

This full-time position offers opportunities to grow within a large UK homebuilder, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture. Based in Peterborough, on-site role with physically demanding duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment with picking/packing processes.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Literate and numerate with basic maths skills.
  • Experience operating MHE (sideloader, reach truck).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack orders for despatch, using bar code scanners.
  • Physical manual handling of building materials involved.
  • Load and unload vehicles using appropriate MHE.
  • Receive, check, and book goods in accurately.
  • Put away stock and replenish as needed.
  • Conduct stock takes and report discrepancies.
  • Audit picked/wrapped loads and maintain housekeeping.

Job Summary

To pick and pack orders on time in full for delivery to customers. Checking goods in and those for despatch, booking goods in. Load and unloading vehicles.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Picking and packing/wrapping of orders for despatch, using bar code scanners to accurately record acticvities.
  • This role involves picking building materials so is a very physical manual handling operation.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using appropriate MHE.
  • Receiving, checking and accurately booking goods in.
  • Put away stock in correct locations from goods in and replenishment of stock.
  • Carry out stock takes and report discrepancies, assist in investigations for stock gains or losses.
  • Auditing of picked/wrapped loads.
  • Be aware of, and work within TWL health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
  • Experience of working within a warhouse environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Previous experience of driving MHE (Sideloader, Reacj truick etc)
  • Experience in the use of basic microsft packages (Excel, Word etc) and WMS.
