Qualifications

  • Skilled in interpreting technical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working in regulated environments, ideally within the nuclear sector.
  • Familiar with industrial sites and associated hazards.
  • Background in technical operations involving nuclear/radiological activities.
  • Proven ability in maintaining facilities and equipment supporting nuclear and non-nuclear operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of tasks within the RWM Integrated Master Schedule.

The role

As a Facility Support Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join our Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) team in a dynamic role that offers meaningful collaboration across production and operational units. This diverse opportunity provides hands-on experience and clear development pathways within the department and beyond once qualified.

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee and ensure the timely delivery of diverse assets and services to meet operational needs across multiple site stakeholders, coordinating resources and support to maintain performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure availability of spares and equipment for the safe operation of the RWM facility
  • Support the delivery of tasks within the RWM Integrated Master Schedule, including stakeholder engagement and project documentation
  • Assist in day-to-day operations and waste management activities
  • Maintain standards in Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality across RWM functions
  • Produce site-wide waste metrics and manage associated content on RWM SharePoint pages

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Facility Support Engineer

Qualifications for the Facility Support Engineer

  • BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in relevant discipline (STEM subjects) or equivalent
  • Recognised Apprenticeship in relevant discipline (STEM subjects)
  • Relevant experience in an engineering discipline.
