Job description

Facilities Services, incorporating Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Sustainability, Minor Works Projects, and Health and Safety are key areas of focus for this role.

  • Facilities Services: Work as an engineer to support daily issues on site and ensure robustness of planned preventative maintenance.
  • Facilities Services: Work with external service provider partners to ensure service delivery.
  • Facilities Services: Review infrastructure layout to develop new solutions, optimising asset performance and standardisation of equipment.
  • Facilities Services: Technically evaluate external supplier workmanship standards.
  • Facilities Services: Develop projects/designs to reduce issues and improve reliability.

Sustainability involves identifying opportunities and improvements to deliver investment programmes, incorporating sustainable engineering.

  • Sustainability: Work with the Energy and Asset Management teams to identify opportunities and improvements.

Minor Works Projects require working as an engineer to develop infrastructure specifications, evaluating technical proposals, and understanding infrastructure technical impact.

  • Minor Works Projects: Develop infrastructure specifications to improve, optimise, and standardise assets.
  • Minor Works Projects: Evaluate technical proposals to ensure alignment with asset strategy.
  • Minor Works Projects: Understand infrastructure technical impact against proposals.

Health and Safety responsibilities include attaining a thorough understanding of health and safety responsibilities and best practices, gaining a full understanding of legislative requirements, and carrying out audits of infrastructure systems.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths, English Language, and Science, as well as specific qualifications such as a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Mechanical or Electrical Operations and a BTEC Level 3 Award in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

This 40-month programme offers a unique opportunity to couple learning with practical, industry-based work at the Airbus aircraft manufacturing site in Broughton, North Wales.
