Job summary

Bekaert in the United Kingdom is seeking a Facilities & Engineering Technician to support a safe, efficient manufacturing site. You will oversee buildings, infrastructure and facility services, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

You will coordinate external contractors, use the CMMS to plan maintenance, and define equipment needs to support current and future business requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Engineering or a similar role.
• Good understanding of building regulations, compliance, and health & safety standards.
• Ability to manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with CMMS and digital maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with standards.
• Manage and maintain site buildings, facilities and infrastructure.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors delivering maintenance projects.
• Issue and manage Permits to Work for safe site activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve facility performance and efficiency.
• Use the CMMS to plan, record, and track maintenance activities and inspections.

Purpose and Mission

Join us as a Facilities & Engineering Technician and help shape a safe, sustainable and high-performing manufacturing environment. You will drive improvements across our buildings, infrastructure and facility services, making a real impact on site success.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company standards, legislation, and Health & Safety requirements.


• Manage and maintain site buildings, facilities, and infrastructure to support smooth operations.


• Coordinate and oversee external contractors delivering maintenance and improvement projects.


• Issue and manage Permits to Work, supporting safe execution of site activities.


• Identify opportunities to improve facility performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.


• Define facility and equipment requirements to support current and future business needs.


• Use the CMMS system to plan, record, and track maintenance activities, statutory inspections, and key performance indicators.

Skills

• Experience in Facilities Engineering or a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.


• Good understanding of building regulations, compliance requirements, and health & safety standards.


• Ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively with different stakeholders.


• Comfortable using digital tools and maintenance management systems to plan and coordinate activities.
