Job summary

Downer Group in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the delivery of infrastructure, facilities, plant and equipment maintenance at our Cardiff Delivery Centre.

You will drive performance, reliability and safety across site operations, leading a high-performing team and supply chain to deliver planned, preventive and reactive maintenance while supporting critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams and contractors.
• Background in facilities, infrastructure and asset management.
• Experience in heavy industry environments with varying infrastructure and equipment types.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all maintenance requirements for site’s Facilities, Infrastructure, Plant & Equipment.
• Deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance in line with the Technical Maintenance Plan.
• Oversee facility projects, including upgrades, installations and capital works.
• Drive Zero Harm outcomes, ensuring safe systems of work and strong HSE performance.
• Manage budgeting, cost control and resource planning for maintenance activities.
• Partner with Operations to ensure minimal disruption to production and service delivery.
• Lead, coach and develop the Facilities Maintenance team and contractors.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement, innovation and sustainability initiatives.

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll drive performance, reliability and safety across site operations leading a high-performing team and supply chain to deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance while supporting critical infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and manage all maintenance requirements for site’s Facilities, Infrastructure, Plant & Equipment.


• Deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance in line with the Technical Maintenance Plan

You will bring

• Trade qualification and/or Engineering/Building degree (or equivalent experience)


• Strong background in facilities, infrastructure and asset management


• Proven experience leading maintenance teams and contractors


• Experience in complex operating environments, with varying ages of infrastructure and equipment types in heavy industry environments


• Experience managing budgets, cost control and performance outcomes
