Your new company
Hays are delighted to be supporting our client in industry in recruiting a Facilities & Workplace Assistant for their busy Birmingham City Centre office. This is a full-time, permanent position, and would suit individuals looking to grow in a career within Facilities Management, but equally would be a fantastic role for those already possessing good experience in this area.
Your new role
Your new role will support with the effective delivery of workplace and facilities services across the site, as well as supporting management with health and safety practices. Your main duties will include:

  • High volume of copying, printing, and laminating highly sensitive documents.
  • Booking and coordinating courier services and also maintenance contractor works, and overseeing.
  • General maintenance tasks across the office (AC, fault diagnosis on office machinery tec).
  • Organisation of post including sorting, scanning etc.
  • Assisting with meeting room set-up and general ad-hoc tasks across the office.
  • General tidyness and cleanliness support across the office to ensure a high-quality work environment for all staff.
  • Becoming trained as a Fire Warden and supporting with leading this across the office.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the correct use of waste and recycling facilities.

This role is a Monday to Friday position, with hours of work between 8am and 5.30pm, on a rotational basis with other members of the team.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will either have some basic experience of working in a facilities department and a passion for progressing in this area, or you could also have strong experience and are looking for a new opportunity with an excellent local employer. You will need good IT skills particularly in Microsoft Office, and a willingness to be involved in all tasks across the department, with no job too big or too small for the team. You should also have a good attitude towards health and safety with this being paramount in your role, and you will require good organisational skills.
Visa sponsorship will not be offered for this role and candidates will require the Right to Work in the UK at the time of application. Those without the RTW need not apply.
