Facilities and Utilities Senior Technician - Edmonton x 2 roles

Contract - Permanent

About Edmonton Distribution Centre: This is a 24/7 operation, handling over 25,000 pallets annually with a throughput of two million pallets. It involves receiving, storing, and dispatching goods efficiently and safely.

What to expect:

Operational & Maintenance Support
  • Participate in and support new initiatives and improvement programmes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
  • Execute advanced preventative and breakdown maintenance to meet machine efficiency and availability targets.
  • Complete preventative and corrective asset care activities according to the plan, ensuring machine performance aligns with standards.
  • Ensure effective use of the Maintenance Management System (SAP PM).
Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QESH)
  • Perform QESH checks to ensure compliance; escalate non-conformances.
  • Follow stock check procedures.
  • Participate in environmental and health and safety risk assessments.
  • Follow site safety practices and conduct pre-use inspections.
  • Maintain hygiene standards and segregate recyclable waste.
Site Standards and Best Practices
  • Adhere to zero-accident culture.
  • Share best practices to improve safety and quality.
  • Support utilities and facilities functions.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and maintain site facilities.
Communication & Teamwork
  • Conduct effective shift handovers.
  • Support team briefings and mentor junior staff.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage job orders.
General Duties
  • Perform additional tasks to support departmental goals.
Skills & Essentials:
  • Qualified or apprentice-trained Engineer (Essential)
  • HNC Mechanical Engineering or higher
  • BOAS qualification (Essential)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Electrical qualification
  • Experience in large operational facilities, ideally in food manufacturing/distribution
  • Experience managing external contracts and suppliers
  • Ability to prioritize tasks (Essential)
