Job Title:Facilities Technician (Plumbing, Steam & Pipework)
Location:Market Drayton
Shift:Day Shift – 39 hours per week (8:30am – 5:00pm, flexible)
Salary:£45,000 per annum

Facilities Technician Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and modify pipework systems (copper, stainless steel, ABS, PVC, and galvanised)

  • Maintain and service steam systems, including traps, valves, condensate lines, and insulation

  • Perform welding and basic metal fabrication (supports, brackets, frames)

  • Support water, steam, compressed air, and drainage systems sitewide

  • Diagnose mechanical, water, or steam-related faults and perform effective repairs

  • Respond to and prioritise utility-related breakdowns

  • Log all work and breakdowns in the CMMS system

  • Manage permits to work and review contractor RAMS

  • Supervise contractor activities to ensure compliance with site procedures

  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) routines and infrastructure projects

  • Maintain compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations (L8, WRAS, pressure systems)

  • Participate in energy-saving initiatives and support legislative inspections

  • Communicate daily handovers to engineering managers

    Previous Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter, Plumber, or Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial facility

  • Knowledge of steam, water, valves, pumps, and associated control systems

  • Welding and metal fabrication experience advantageous

  • Understanding of Legionella control and water hygiene best practices

  • Familiar with mechanical drawings and pipework schematics

  • CMMS experience preferred

    Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Pipefitting, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Welding certification or equivalent experience

  • Hot work and confined space training preferred
